April 13, 2008 by tifftai

Kilauea volcano erupted for the second time in the month on April 10th. There are two major vents: Halemaumau and Pu’u O’o. Both current eruptions occured at the Halemaumau vent. Scientists have observed glowing rocks being ejected from the vent during the explosion. Some blocks were blasted to the rim of the crater which is 230 feet from the crater. The pictures above show the crater on April 6th and April 10th.
